Why I'd encourage you to support Nagaloka

The Nagarjuna Institute at Nagaloka was set up in 2001. It is a college campus  providing a pleasant environment for study and mediation close to the central city of India, Nagpur.
Students at this Buddhist college learn more about the civil rights movement started by a contemporary of Gandhi's called Doctor Ambedkar, who came from the oppression of being of 'untouchable' caste and attained the respect of others such that he led the process of writing of the Consitution of an Independent India, which made the practice of untouchability illegal.
(The social discrimination/oppression of caste requires much more work to be overthrown, and this is perhaps best done by the empowerment of individuals).
The students at Nagaloka build their confidence and ability to become community leaders in their home villages and towns, even in some of the most troubled parts of India.
I can just about afford to support 3 students at the Nagarjuna Institute at Nagaloka for the months from February 2010 through to the end of the academic year in May, and have made this payment to the Nargujuna Training Institute bank account, for details of which click here. If you wish to support students and avoid bank fees, I will cover the bank fees for the payments. email me to discuss this here:
  • email the main blog author (Paul Crosland) via this Mediation Support Ltd email form

  • I will follow up and support whichever of the 16 students stay in touch and request support in a way in which I feel moved and able to offer it.
Please also arrange here to support a student; perhaps Bhishnu? or Bhijay? or any of the others whose dreams are in your hands?
